#1 “Its not selling, its sharing”. This is one of the biggest phrases being told to brand new MLM sales distributors.
The absolute truth is that with network marketing sales, as with any business, at its most basic level is about an exchange of value, in this case money for a product or business opportunity. The entire sharing mentality is often told to brand new MLMers who have a great phobia of doing real selling.
The sharing approach is really just one individual relying on the relationships that they have with friends and family, and the trust they have attained with them. it is used as a point of leverage to build their business and market their MLM products or opportunity.
Number 2 “We are not in sales, we we educate people on deciding better choices”. Educational selling is a very well known technique in the sales and marketing business, and in network marketing sales also.
an excellent example of this can be seen at home depot. One thing that many people love about home depot is that they hold classes and how to expos on how to actually do home repairs and projects. This is a great example of educational marketing at its best.
They invite a targeted group who wants to learn a particular thing, they instruct them that one thing , and then get the sale in an extremely easy manner.
You can view this technique carried out many ways in network marketing sales with educational sessions, webinars, conference calls. All with a goal of educating individuals which makes the sale easier.
#3 “The product sells itself”. Products don’t sell or market itself, individuals sell products, all the way. Try this as an exercise to understand this idea. purchase a large box of the latest latest and greatest juice, top of the line, best in the world .
Ok, sit the box of juice in your driveway, and put it there for a little bit .
Does the juice magically leap up and sell itself? Is there a sale made without someone actively working to market the product?
No, actual individuals being in front of targeted prospects and demonstrating the benefits of a product or opportunity is what clinches the sale, not the product itself.
