5 Tips For Developing A 6-Figure Income While You Work At Home

Creating a steady income from home can be a daunting process. Being successful from home can often take more work than your regular 9 to 5. But, if you learn to break things down and follow a simple formula, your home based business plan can give you all the income and time freedom that you are seeking in a work from home business.

My successful business formula involves 5 steps. I follow these same five steps with every person I come into contact with. Having a system not only makes my days more organized, but also it opens up more time for me to enjoy the financial rewards that the system creates.

Here is my simple formula:

Step 1; Collect Leads:

This is an entire article in itself (which is in the works). In an effort to keep this article on point I will touch on this only briefly. There are many ways to get leads. You can buy leads, place ads in papers and on the net, use ad words, submit your site to search engines, mail postcards, etc. There are literally 100’s of ways to advertise. The trick is finding a couple of advertising techniques that you like best and that fit your budget and then try them out. Those that bring you the most success can be tweaked further to give you the results you want. Just remember to always test each ad or lead generating technique you use. From my own experience, I like to talk to those that are in my business and find out what they are doing. They have most often been through the trial and error process and can save you some time.

Step 2; Call Leads:

This is the step that most people have reservations about. If you want to be successful in any home business, you must pick up the phone. This does not mean “cold” calling people. I never call anybody that has not asked to hear about my home business. Use your lead generating techniques in step one to create leads that want to hear from you and then contact them. Whether you business costs $5 or $5000 to join, people want to know that there is a real person behind the business that they can consult with questions. Talking to them and establishing a rapport and trust will go a long way to making sure that the prospect joins you in your home business. When still a “rookie” to making calls, it is best to have a script or outline to follow. This is not to say that you read directly from that. Just use it as a guide to keep you on track and in control of the call. Most importantly in regards to calls……LISTEN. Listen and take notes about what the prospect is telling you. Remember, you are trying to get to know this person and establish their trust.

Step 3; Email

It is hard to ignore this powerful tool. When collecting my leads, I always get an email and phone number to use in step 2 and 3 of my system. Just as I do not make cold calls, I do not send emails to those who have not asked for it. Spam complaints will kill your business and your rapport with people. When I get an email, I simply have that email address automatically entered into an autoresponder. My autoresponder then sends messages every few days to keep me fresh in my prospects mind. Autoresponders are a must have for any business. They allow you to stay in contact for long periods of time while doing virtually no work. They also increase the amount of times your prospect is exposed to you and your business. Remember this, on average a prospect must see your message 5 to 12 times before joining you.

Step 4; Direct Mail Information Packet.

With all of the new email laws and email blocking systems, direct mail is making a comeback. As I said in step 3, you want to expose yourself to your prospect as many times as possible. But, if you use one method of exposure….your prospect may begin to ignore you. Diversifying your exposure types will keep them interested. I must state that I do not mail information packets to everybody. Only those that I have talked with and that have expressed interest. Mailing the packets can become expensive if you mail them to everyone. That said, putting the pack together is very easy. I used the ad copy on my website to develop the packet. Then I throw in a business card or flyer and send it on its way. This ensures folks will see the content of your website Many have seen so many websites that they just browse them. They are more apt to sit down and read printed text than to sit at their computer and read through your website.

Step 5; Direct Mail Postcard.

Postcards, like direct mail, give you another way to expose yourself to your prospects. They are fun to design and can be sent quickly and easily. Because they are less expensive than the direct mail packets, I send a postcard to all of my leads. People love getting postcards. They do have the junk mail stigma and if designed well, they can give a personal touch to your business. I actually send a postcard campaign that sends multiple postcards over a period of 45 – 60 days to my prospects. I use a service that does this automatically and even personalizes each card for me.

Always remember this, it takes on average 5 to 12 exposures to get somebody into your business. My 5-step process actually includes multiple exposures within each step. For example, my emails include phone numbers to live calls and links to movies to watch. One email can get me three or more exposures. The key to any business is to have a formula or process to follow. Knowing what you are going to do each day keeps you focused and allows you to track how your business is doing and what may or may not be working.

That’s it! Those 5 simple steps earn me a consistent 6-figure income from home. Your results may differ based on your mlm home business, and your compensation plan among other things, but this process will definitely increase your sign up rate.

Ezine Marketing

An ‘ezine’ is an online magazine which sends out daily, weekly or monthly ‘editions’ to subscribers via email.

How to do marketing with ‘ezines’:

The best way to advertise in an ‘ezine’ is to have a text ad and link to your website included within one of their ‘editions’. You can either pay for this link if you have a website without an affiliate program or you can suggest to the ezine owner that he/she uses an affiliate link to direct subscribers to your website for a share of the profits. This can sometimes be the better option as you don’t pay anything, however, if your website is a proven seller and is to be advertised to a large targeted subscriber base of say 100,000 people, it may be worth it to pay upfront.

What you must watch out for:

Now here’s the thing… Ezine owners, just like any website owner, are on a mission to generate revenue. As a result, it will obviously be beneficial for them to exaggerate the size and quality of their subscriber base so that they can charge more for ad placements!

You MUST make an effort to find out how large and how targeted their list actually is. The way to do this is to look at previous editions of the Ezine, pick out the advertisers, click on the links to visit their websites and then email the webmaster to find out how successful his ad campaign with the Ezine was.

Email at least five webmasters who’ve advertised with each ezine and you should be able to evaluate if your investment is going to be worthwhile or not.

You can find a large selection of Ezines by category at www.ezinesearch.com

3 steps to multiply you database with Ezine advertising campaigns:

When you find an ‘ezine’ owner has both a large list of subscribers and who is willing to market your product or service for you, set up this simple 3 point system to effectively capture a large chunk of their subscribers…

1. Agree the terms and price of the campaign. Give the ezine owner a link to send their subscribers to.

2. This link will direct the traffic to a blank page on your site with a brief but highly effective description of your product. Use fear, urgency and positivity in the description.

3. Under this description, include a box where the visitor must enter his name, email address and then press ‘submit’ in order to gain access to the sales page for your product. As I’ve already said, you can get one of these lead capture boxes at GetResponse.com.

When your ad gets emailed out, this is what will happen…If the ezine in question had 100,000 subscribers for instance, around 20,000 of them will probably get to your product description page. If just half of those 20,000 people submit their details to view your product, you will gain 10,000 targeted subscribers in an instant – and obviously make some sales as well!

Simple but highly effective and you can still do this even if you are an affiliate promoting someone else’s product!

Photo ID Cards, And Their Strengths And Possible Applications

ID cards are becoming a very valuable way for any business to recognize their employees and authorised site personnel at a glance, vastly improving site security at a very low cost. And particularly useful where the company employs a range of temporary workers and frequently has contractors on site, (generic visitor passes are a possible economical solution here) It can also enable you to improve your customer service by allowing your customers to know with which member of staff they are dealing. Since the photo ID card becomes the focus of attention, it is wise to ensure that it is of the highest possible quality, and formal enough to represent your company image. Poor quality ID card will only reflect poorly upon your organisation, everything about a successful business should reflect the ethos of quality that has elevated them to such a standing in the first place.

If you are in charge of providing Photo ID Cards for your company, there are many solutions that allow you to create “home made” ID cards, unless your organisation really cannot afford to go to a professional agency for your Id, I would strongly advise against this. There are many reputable companies that are capable of creating ID cards of stunning design and quality at a very reasonable cost and with turnaround times of just a few days from order to delivery. Company ID cards are also useful to ensure that any employee privileges, such as discounted goods, are not abused by persons not entitled to such advantage.

Where card security is paramount, there are numerous methods that can be adopted to ensure that the cards cannot be tampered with, Photo ID Cards can be printed on cards with an embedded hologram, enabling personnel to confirm their authenticity at a glance, cards can also be laminated during the print process, this gives added security as the details are not just printed on the card, but IN the card, making the job of altering any details much more difficult. And also offering a higher level of card durability. Cards can easily be produced in line with any existing corporate image. Where a method of infallible authentication of the cardholder is required, it is possible to impose an image of the cardholders signature upon the face of the card.

You may already carry a card from your workplace, many usages to these dual purpose ID cards, company shop discounts, canteen funds, employee bonus incentives, etc.

Business Consultants Use Their Help

If you are interested in hiring a business virtual assistant, first of all, congratulations, your life is about to change for the better. Secondly, here is my experience and how I did it, hopefully this will help you.

The best paid to click

Having a business virtual assistant (VA) has taken so much of a load off my shoulders, I can’t tell you how great the whole thing has been. I assume you already anticipate that, or you wouldn’t be reading this article, but the reason I bring it up is because I learned about virtual assistants last summer, and I made mistake number one: I didn’t jump on it. Why? I guess because I’m just a glutton for punishment and wanted to continue starting each day with more tasks than I could possibly do, and end it in frustration. Because that’s where I was at.

But once I got smart and realized I needed a VA here’s what I did:

1. Google. I searched for the term “virtual assistant” and looked through the various sites. I gathered information, asked people to contact me back, and generally researched the whole thing.

2. After discovering that there are two basic ways to go: through a service or direct to an independent, I decided I wanted to work directly with my own personal VA, so that’s the direction I continued in. The services are more expensive (between $10-15 per hour vs $3-4 per hour) and I just didn’t want to work with a committee. I just wanted one person, the right person, who would get to know me and work with me and be just like any other employee that I have locally.

3. I made a list. I listed everything I wanted my VA to do. For example, I wanted them to be able to work on my blog, so an understanding of HTML and wordpress went on my list. I wanted somebody that could help me distribute content and videos, and monitor my analytics etc.

4. I went to elance.com and posted my job. Elance has tons of VA’s in the system, and I was even able to be proactive and research good VA’s and invite them to bid on my job.

5. The bidding process. I was surprised how many people responded to my description, and I immediately had several qualified people bidding on the job. The two things that made the most difference in my final decision were how good their feedback was from other clients, and secondly how aggressively they were about getting my business. In the end, Prabhu really impressed me when he researched me online, found my phone number, and called me directly to introduce himself. He ended up with the job.

It has worked out just as I hoped it would, with Prabhu doing tons of important, but time consuming work for me every day. He has a great attitude, loves to work, and has great skills. He is currently doing projects that I didn’t even think of when we started, like posting advertisements, helping with my social marketing and groups, even checking my e-mail!

And he’s proactive in making my life easier. I asked Prabhu to help with this article, and here are his comments, in his own words:

“My name is Prabhu from India. I am working Virtual Assistant (VA) for Dave Sherwin. He is running a internet marketing firm, he does not have enough time to do everything that is the reason he hired me. Working with Dave is a joy and pleasure. Everyday Dave sent me list of tasks which is have with complete instructions. I finished the tasks and send him updates daily. I am very much pleased to work with him and looking forward to work with long term.”

Advertise for cheap

Prabhu is college educated, smart, and efficient. You can probably tell form his writing that he speaks English as a second language, but we have had no communication problems. All tasks are detailed out in a Google doc that we share, which he up-dates daily, including his hours per day.

And did you catch the part about working with me being a “joy and pleasure?” I bet none of my other employees think that. I can’t wait for my wife to read it. But the fact is Prabhu and I work very well together, I don’t know how I got by without him. I highly recommend you start the process right now, and find your own VA.

Guide To Selling Product Online – Several Tips To Success

The global reach of the Internet has enticed many retailers – from home-based businesses to large corporations – to sell their products online. Going from a web presence to selling online is usually not as simple as adding a picture of your product to a web page.

In this article i will give short intro where to start.

Good place for start selling Free Classified ads

Let’s take a closer look at today’s online experiences and the challenges they face.

1) Search and Comparisons

Many shoppers know exactly what they are looking for online. Others want to analyze and compare similar offerings.

Today, searching for the products can be quite complex. search, select, and product comparison online today is significant room for improvement. Ineffective search-and-compare functionality could cause companies with online stores to lose sales because shoppers who know what they want are deterred from completing their transactions. Therefore, it’s incumbent upon commerce sites to connect those buyers to the products quickly, load the products in the cart, and advance them to checkout—or risk losing a sure sale.

2)Personalization and Customization

Consumers expect to personalize their purchases. There are a lot of online commerce sites today do not allow shoppers to view personalized products before purchase, which can lead to high return rates.

There are many options available to purchasers today, but typically the process is tedious and sends the shopper down a hopeless linear path, forcing them to retreat through the process until they are back at the starting point. Offering highly visual interfaces to personalization and customization—approaches can yield larger order sizes, increase online transaction completion, and reduce returns.

3)Lift and Abandonment

Retailers strive to increase lift—the size of the shopping cart. By offering customers additional, related, or more appropriate products, you give them an in-store, satisfied experience while helping you yield higher conversion rates and increased lift. Cross-selling and up-selling online has been severely limited because customers have not been able to visualize the add-on items that the retailer wants to promote. Good solution for retailers to increase lift and reduce abandonment is by improving the visualization of cross-selling and up-selling offers and ensuring an intuitive checkout process.

Good pictures of your products is very important.

There is several tips how to visually present product on your site:

1) Use a tripod or rest the camera on something for a steady shot. Make sure the item is level in the viewer;

2) Get as close to the object as possible. Take a few pictures from different distances;

3) Have the item well lit, but avoid shadows;

4) Using a neutral, consistent background is recommended and is useful for later digital editing;

5) Take shots at different angles if new information is provided with a different view;

6) If your product has a variety of styles & colors, take a few photos showing all the variations together;

7) If using a digital camera, set both quality and image size at the highest settings possible.

Work From Home Business Opportunities

Is there a online business opportunity with your name written all over it? Many potential online business winners dismiss the idea because they don’t have any idea where to start. The fact of the matter is that, although online businesses require a lot of work just like brick and mortar, real world businesses do, the internet is a great place for people without a lot of start up capital to get a winning business off the ground with a minimum of overhead. Here’s what you need to know about working on the internet and about good online business opportunities.

First, don’t fool yourself into thinking that online business is a cake walk. It’s not. You can do thinks less expensively than in a traditional business, and you can set your own hours and reach people all over the world. But you still need to put in the blood, sweat and tears. You need to find out about the internet neighborhood your business will be a part of. Learn about your competitors and your customers. Learn where else your customers go so you can advertise. Take a page from your competitors’ books and see if you can learn from any of the mistakes they have made in the past. Figure out how much everything will cost to run. Write a business plan, even if you don’t need one, because it will help you focus your thoughts and be invaluable when it comes to developing who you will get your business off the ground.

One word of warning: be wary of business home online work opportunities that sound too good to be true. When you’re setting yourself up in business online, you may find that there are companies out there that claim they can help you get set up as a sales person for their product and that they will give you a website and know-how to pull in customers. Most of the time, these schemes end with you paying a fee for the site and then being put in the position in which you have to try and sell other people like yourself on the idea of setting up their own, similar website instead of actually selling a product. This is a pyramid scheme, just like a pyramid scheme in the real world, and it’s a good way to get hustled.

There are tons of more legitimate home online work opportunities you can tap into. Think about your skills, talent, experience and knowledge and look for the best ways to utilize them. For instance, if you are good with office work and software, maybe you could be an online assistant that handles secretarial work for a variety of companies. If you’re a good sales person, online auction websites might be for you. If you have a good eye for design and HTML knowledge, website design and maintenance might be the career choice for you. There are plenty of good home online work opportunities for you if you do your research and go for one that is the best fit for your skills and interests.

Who Should One Consider Becoming An Affiliate?

Have you ever thought that your skills and expertise were being wasted? You apply all of your creative know how and ability for your boss and their company for very little reward. Have you ever considered taking those skills and making them work for you instead of someone else? Have you looked into your own business enterprise only to realize the capital you need is way beyond what you can raise? If you have answered yes to any of these questions then working at home as an affiliate could be the answer your are looking for.

Many of us would love to start our own businesses but two things generally stop us. The first being money and the second being risk. You need a significant amount of capital to start even a small sole proprietorship. Even though financing is available there is still the risk factor. A fairly large percentage of small businesses fail in the first year. If you make it through that first year then there are still several challenges that have to be met. It could be five years before you see any real profit. Most of us cannot wait this long. We need a constant flow of money coming in to meet our daily obligations.

Becoming an affiliate can get you started on the road to independence with no risk to you. By becoming an affiliate you work to sell or increase the revenues of another company. This can be done in a variety of ways. You can work, selling a particular line of products. The head company takes care of the advertising and creation of the items; you simply work out how to sell them. You are paid for your performance. The more you sell the more you make.

You can also create an online affiliate marketing business. If you’re creative and handy at making websites then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. By allowing your site to become an affiliate site with a major search engine, you could make large amounts of profit with ad revenue. Companies such as Yahoo publisher and Google ad sense can help to get you started. They handle all of the advertising costs and placing allowing you to concentrate on bringing traffic to your site. There is no cost to you and absolutely no risk.

People who enjoy independence and flexibility in their work make good affiliates. Those that desire or need flexible working hours can gain the most from being an affiliate. You paid according to how well you perform, not on how many hours you work. You can schedule your work around other things such as families or other commitments. If you’re independent and a self starter than a career as an affiliate is perfect for you.

If you are creative, motivated and driven then possibly consider becoming an affiliate. You can run your own affiliate business from home with no cost or obligation to you. If you are good at working independently then as an affiliate you can’t go wrong. You’ll have the freedom to work as and when you please and will realize the rewards of your own hard work. Start putting your skills and creativity to work for you rather than someone else. What you receive in return will be well worth it. Consider a career as an affiliate, you nothing to loose and everything to gain.

How I Generated More Revenues Without Having A Sale!

You want more revenue and you want it fast. The marketing experts tell you to “create a compelling offer.” You immediately think “Sale.”

You wonder how big the sale should be. How much can I afford to give away before the sale starts costing me money? How will I word the sale materials so customers don’t take advantage of me? The worries start and you realize you have a huge task to pull off this sale and generate real revenue.

Unfortunately, in our crowded market place, a compelling offer has become synonymous with a “sale.” There are other, better alternatives to motivate customers to buy from you.

This article will show you six options that will accomplish your goal of getting more revenues. These options will build a stronger relationship with your customers that the sale will not accomplish.

The Limitations of the “Sale”

The fundamental problem with most sales is that they are good for the business but not necessarily good for the customer.

A sale usually starts with a business problem you want your customers to solve for you. You need more cash. You have excess inventory. You need to meet sales quotas. You want to get ready for new merchandise. Your sale is asking the customer to solve your business problem.

There will always be customers who don’t mind being used. Their agenda coincides with your agenda. Quid pro quo.

When you create your offering around something they really value, however, they look on your offering differently. It becomes more than just a customer transaction. It is the start or the continuation of a relationship that will result in sales now and in the future. The customer’s primary concern is always how the product or service benefits them and makes their life better.

Six Alternative Offerings

Convenience

Structure your offering around customer convenience and you have a motivation that does not require sales or discounts. At my daughter’s school recently, the uniform company came to the school to sell uniforms. The parent’s alternative was to drive 30 miles into the city to purchase the uniforms at the company’s store. Parents were lined up forty deep to purchase the uniforms at regular prices. This store made convenience a motivator for the parents to shop.

Enhance Your Expertise

If your customers are buying your expertise, by enhancing that know-how you give them additional motivation to buy your product or service. Suppose you were in the copywriting business. You announce to your customers that you had just completed a copywriting campaign that generated thousands of dollars for a particular business. Customers now see doing business with you as even more desirable. No discounts; no sales!

Self-Esteem and Praise from Others

Those who market golf equipment say the main motivation for customer purchases is praise from others. “Great shot, Bob. You’re really driving the ball well!” If your product or service involves these types of motivations, repackage your offering to foster self-esteem and praise from others. It has more power than a sale!

Tapping into Social Issues (Idealism)

I recently worked with an acupuncture clinic. This form of Chinese medicine can heal many ailments and injuries. We chose to focus their acupuncture marketing on the treatments on athletic injuries because of the current scandals involving the use of harmful drugs and steroids. We presented their offering as a safe and natural alternative to more harmful drugs. By presenting an ideal alternative to a current social issue, no sale or discount was required. You can appeal to your customer’s idealism.

Popularity

People want to be part of the “in-group.” They want acceptance. By repackaging your offering to emphasize the popularity of your product or service, you give people another motive for wanting to buy from your business.

Scarcity

Scarcity is another motive that drives customers. It can be expressed in limited product or service quantities; limited editions; selective lines of products; preferred customer programs; limited time; or taking advantage of opportunities. There is some greed in all of us. If we feel we are going to lose out, we get very motivated.

Conclusion

This article has shown you six alternatives to generate more revenue that don’t involve a sale. When you need a compelling offer, start with the motivations that drive your customers to buy from you and then emphasize these motivations. You will find these motives are just as effective as a sale. They will also help you build a better relationship with your customers because you’re doing it for them!

Are You Ready To Start A Internet Business

As a result of today’s recession, job losses and staff cutbacks, more and more people are turning to the internet to find additional ways of making money. If you start online business you can make a good extra income. Unfortunately a lot of these people are lured by the plenitude of ‘get rich quick schemes’.

Throughout history the world has been subjected to scam artists and con men who prey on the vulnerable, taking advantage of those desperate to raise extra money. It is also a misled belief that if you have access to the internet, then you too can become an internet expert. New websites pop up daily with the owners believing in the ‘if you build it, they will come’.

Now do not get me wrong, you really can earn money online if you start internet business and yes anyone can do it. However like any job in the world you have to learn your profession. From airline pilot to paperboy, you have to learn how to complete your working role. The same can be said for Internet Marketing and like all the other career positions in life; it takes time to learn your craft.

How long it will take and how much you can earn will always vary from person to person. In every aspect of life some people just manage to achieve that little bit more than others. Although if you look at the career paths of some of the world’s top business performers, you will often discover that they had many failures early in their careers.

So you should not be surprised when you start trying to start a profitable internet business and find you are not even covering your initial outlay. Any attempts you may have had in the past to make money online that failed, now is the time to put a stop on those ventures. Step back, learn from your mistakes and start again. Each failure will have taught you something, made you stronger and far more knowledgeable of the workings of the internet.

For starters it is easy to earn a few extra bucks a week completing surveys or reading emails. Yes I know these jobs can be monotonous and time consuming, but they will provide you with a little regular money into your bank account. Start a blog; choose a subject close to your heart. If you are going to be posting every day, then you really need to be totally passionate about your subject. Join Google Adsense and display their ad’s on your blog, these will not pay very much, but at this stage of your early internet career, every nickel and dime will start to add up.

Now that you are beginning to earn just a few bucks a month, it’s time to start looking at how you are going to increase your income. If you are serious about Internet Marketing then it is advisable for you to consider taking some professional advice. Get as much information as you can or it could prove to be very costly for you, signing up for an ecourse will pay dividends for you in the end.

Returning to the warning of the scam artists, when you find a program that you would like to try, check them out. Google them, if they have any negative remarks, leave well alone.

Rest assured though there are plenty of true, honest and trustworthy Internet Marketers out there willing and able to help train beginners like you. Invest in their help and let them guide you though the early stages. You will benefit greatly in the long run. Yes you can start an internet business, but it takes time and perseverance.
